Microneedling (Dermapen
Advanced skin needling for smoother, firmer-looking skin
Microneedling uses a precision device with multiple fine needles that create controlled micro-channels in the skin. This helps kickstart collagen renewal while improving the delivery of topical actives into deeper layers of the skin.
Stimulates collagen
Encourages skin renewal and supports firmer, smoother texture over time.
Minimal downtime
Most clients experience temporary redness for around 12–48 hours.
Course-based results
Visible improvement can start after the first session, with best results after a treatment course.

About the treatment
Advanced microneedling technology vertically stamps the skin with controlled depth and speed. As the device glides across the surface, it triggers the skin’s natural repair response and can significantly enhance absorption of professional topical nutrients through the micro-channels.
Common concerns treated
- Ageing or lax skin
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Smoker’s lines around the lips
- Texture, large pores, and overall rejuvenation
- Stretch marks
- Scars (including acne, surgical, and burns)
- Active acne
- Alopecia / hair thinning (when combined with topical support)
Why device microneedling (vs rollers)
Compared to traditional rollers, a motorised microneedling device can be gentler on the surface of the skin, helping reduce unnecessary trauma and discomfort. Single-use needle cartridges help reduce cross-contamination risk, while adjustable depths allow the treatment to be tailored to your needs.
It’s also commonly used in more delicate, hard-to-reach areas such as around the eyes, lips, and the nose.
Areas that can be treated
Microneedling is most often performed on the face, neck, and décolleté. Hands can be added (often as an add-on), and other body areas can be treated where the skin needs support—such as stretch marks or scarring.
Your appointment journey
We’ll assess your skin concerns, plan needle depth and targeted actives, and guide you through aftercare. For deeper treatments, a topical numbing cream may be applied beforehand.
Consultation & assessment
We evaluate skin goals, concerns, and suitability, then tailor a plan.
Prep & comfort
For deeper settings, topical anaesthetic may be used before treatment.
Microneedling session
Controlled micro-channels are created to support renewal and active delivery.
Aftercare & recovery
Expect possible redness for 12–48 hours; most return to normal routine quickly.
Results to expect
Many people notice improvements after the first session. More significant, longer-lasting results are typically seen after a course of treatments, and skin can continue improving for months afterward—especially when paired with recommended homecare.
Frequently asked questions
Tap a question to expand.
Should I prepare my skin before microneedling?
For best outcomes, we may recommend a period of targeted active skincare before starting—especially for thin or delicate areas—to help strengthen and condition the skin. Continuing your recommended routine after the course (often for several weeks) can support results.
How long before I see results?
Many clients see improvement after the first treatment. More noticeable and lasting changes typically build over a course of around 4–6 sessions (often spaced 2–4 weeks apart). Skin may continue improving for 6–12 months after completing a course, particularly with good post-treatment care.
Is there downtime?
Usually minimal. You may experience redness for about 12–48 hours. Most people return to normal daily activities immediately. If needed, breathable camouflage makeup may help cover redness once appropriate.
How many treatments are recommended?
As a general guide: rejuvenation often benefits from ~4–6 treatments about 4 weeks apart; acne scarring can require ~6 treatments about 2 weeks apart; and stretch marks may need a longer course (often around 10+ sessions) spaced roughly 3 weeks apart. Your clinician will tailor this to your skin and goals.
Is the treatment painful?
Shallow depths are commonly very tolerable. For deeper settings (around 1mm+), a topical numbing cream is typically applied beforehand (often 15–40 minutes) to improve comfort.
How soon after dermal fillers can I have microneedling?
A common recommendation is to wait a few days after fillers (e.g., ~4 days) so bruising can settle, or to do microneedling 1–2 days before filler injections. Your practitioner will advise the best timing for you.
